Food is a Human Right. Everyone in Oregon should have access to food, no matter where we were born. Yet over 62,000 Oregonians are excluded from food assistance and other vital programs today, leaving huge portions of rural, urban and suburban communities behind.

Food for All Oregonians will ensure that everyone in Oregon has access to the food we need to thrive – and take important steps toward a future where immigration status no longer drives hunger and poverty in our communities.

We are building a robust, statewide coalition to ensure all Oregonians have access to the food that we need, regardless of our place of birth.

What is Food for All Oregonians?

Food for all Oregonians is a state-wide legislative campaign to expand food assistance benefits to those excluded on the basis of immigration status. Oregon Food Bank and Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, along with a coalition of 45+ organizations, are introducing legislation in the 2023 legislative session to create a state-funded program that ensures everyone in Oregon has access to the food we need. This game-changing policy will:

• Make food assistance available to all Oregonians who are currently excluded due to immigration status
• Provide families with money for groceries that matches federal SNAP food assistance benefits
• Ensure everyone is aware of this vital support through community navigation and outreach, improved language access and more

Join us for the Food for All Oregonians Campaign Kick-Off, on November 15 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. ASL, Spanish, Swahili and Vietnamese interpretation will be provided during the event.
